“World No Tobacco Day”
The Department of Public Health Dentistry observed the “World No Tobacco Day” initiative with
a range of activities aimed at spreading awareness about the dangers of tobacco use and
encouraging a healthier, tobacco-free future.
As part of the celebration, the department conducted:
Awareness rallies, poster making, slogan writing and fashion show were organized showcasing
the harmful effects of tobacco.
Oral health screenings and counselling sessions for the public to identify early signs of tobaccorelated conditions and provide support for cessation.
Interactive sessions and role-plays by students to educate school children and community
members on the importance of staying tobacco-free.
Pledge drives encouraging individuals to commit to a tobacco-free life.
The event emphasized the department’s ongoing efforts to build a healthier society by
empowering individuals with knowledge and resources to reject tobacco use and advocate for a
tobacco-free tomorrow.
