Community services are being offered by Sudha Rustagi College of Dental Sciences & Research, Faridabad, through organizing Dental Screening & Treatment Camps in & around (20km) Faridabad. Camps are being organised on routine basis in various settings like schools, colleges, industries and villages. Special camps are also organised in orphanages & special schools to cater the oral health needs of children with special health care needs. Camps are also organized in collaboration with different NGOs (like Inner wheel, Rotary club etc.), trusts and charitable organisations. In the past year, a total of 75 camps (4219 patients) were organised where more than 4000 people were screened and treated for various oral ailments. Out of which 11 were the school camps, 16 were the special camps in which treatment were provided. Oral hygiene aids were also distributed to the needy children. The services are provided in these camps through two mobile dental units.
Apart from organizing camps, various types of activities are also organized by the institution to create awareness among general public regarding prevention and treatment of various oral diseases. One of such activity is observing/celebrating various special days. In the previous year, WORLD ORAL HEALTH DAY (20th march) was also celebrated by performing a “Nukkad Natak” at Old Railway station, Faridabad.
On the occasion of “World No Tobacco Day (31st may), a rally was organized in Faridabad by students, interns and Faculty members of Sudha Rustagi Dental College, to educate people about the ill effects of tobacco on oral and general health.
