About the Department
Public Health Dentistry Department focuses on the science and art of preventing and controlling dental diseases, and promoting dental health through organized community efforts. Our faculty and staff are responsible for the planning and execution of community based extra mural experiences (both clinical and non clinical) and public health course work of the dental students. Department is fully equipped with ultramodern dental chairs and most sophisticated gadgets to increase awareness about dental health in general population. Department is actively involved in dental camps and awareness programs specifically targeting rural population, geriatric population, school going children and disabled persons. The department has acquired 2 state of art air-conditioned mobile dental vans equipped with most updated instruments and gadgets.
The department also runs 2 Satellite Clinics for the benefit of patients. The clinics are well equipped with all facilities to ensure quality care.
The department has an ongoing PG Program since last 5 years and is involved in various Research activities and Oral Health Survey Programmes.
Departmental activities
Camps are conducted on regular basis in schools and rural areas. Special camps are also organized in old age homes and for persons with special health care needs apart from other camps organized in collaboration with charitable trusts. In the past year, 16 check-up and treatment camps were organized in various schools where 2635 children were screened. 55 check-up and treatment camps were organized in villages where 2401 people were screened. Nine special camps were also organized where 630 subjects were seen.
World No Tobacco Day was celebrated where brick-kiln workers were educated regarding the ill-effects of tobacco and screened for oral pre-malignant and malignant lesions.
World Oral Hygiene Day was celebrated on 1st August by creating awareness regarding good oral hygiene among the masses.
AIDS day was organized on Dec 1st in collaboration with a team from Civil hospital of Faridabad where a street play was conducted on awareness about AIDS.

BIOGRAPHY
Lead and administer the delivery of high quality educational programs and services, including planning, development, program review, and staffing. Informing the management about the major programs and services of the college and seek their approval as required. Involved with development of the curriculum for the undergraduates and post graduates and examinations. Responsible for the operational aspects of undergraduate and postdoctoral programs. Coordination of all research and educational and training activities and clinical services related to the college. Responsible for international collaboration with foreign universities, [usm malaysia]. Coordinating various institutional national and international educational programs. Mentoring faculty, staff and students and engaging them in effective and successful team work. Representing the institute outside programs and involved with outreach community service activities as related to oral health and disease prevention. Serve as the coordinator with other faculty and administrators and chairman in the dental school on matters related to the research, clinical programs and all intramural practices. Guiding post graduate students in the subject of public health dentistry in their masters program.
